It is with great sadness we have to report the passing of Jay Dooling last Saturday evening (Feb. 7).

For many years Dooling was heard on the Irish Aires radio program and was responsible for maintaining the Irish Aires website and Facebook page.  He was very involved with promoting all aspect of the Houston Irish/Celtic community.  In his later years, he spent a lot of time in Ireland but would drop in when he was back in town.

Jay, you will be greatly missed.

  2. I thought you might like a reprint, of sorts, of the article I wrote about Jay in “Irish People,” in August of 2004. It includes his comments about Pacifica Radio and the importance of “dissenting voices.” Feel free to distribute this to anyone who might like it.
